More Basketball

You all know that Blonde Girl plays basketball and soccer. Sometimes practically, at the same time.

We finished the basketball season with the district tournament and then the basketball banquet. This week we have been in the MV Tournament and it has been a little bit more than most of us thought it would be. In short, basketball games, sometimes two, every night. Tonight we play at 4:30 and then have a skills championship. If we win the 4:30, we will play in the championship.

At this point, we are the #1 seed.

Soccer starts up Saturday. We basically play soccer from October - May. More or less. I think the practices start in September, but who knows. It is all a blur.

Back to Reality

Spring Break was great. I will posting some more about it in the next few days. We had a lot of fun and were glad Beloved Niece was with us. We mostly sat in the sun and shopped. That was the break in a nutshell.

Warming Trend

After it has been so cold and rainy, it is lovely today.
The girls are tanning and a crazy one is swimming.
But, what can I say, she swam in December and hasn't stopped.

Cold Weather

It is still cold and rainy.
There won't be much tanning today.

Spring Break

Beloved Niece is here with us, they have been tanning and hanging out. The girls have made cookies twice. They are having fun.

Today it is raining. Apparently, all day.

It is hard to tan in the rain.

The Countdown is Near

It is almost Spring Break and I am counting the seconds.

Beloved Niece will be here tomorrow night.

I am not sure what all we are doing, but it will be fun.

Fish Tale

Cooper, the stupid cat, decided to get Blonde Girl's goldfish. He got into BG's room, which is usually shut because of the fish and that cat. Then, he got up on her dresser and knocked the
large vase over. Miss Brunette heard the noise and somehow mananged to catch the vase.

We had to get towels immediately. That is a lot of water. I refilled the water with our "kept fish water". I hope the fish survives the trauma.

Blonde Girl talked to the fish and gave it some food. It was freaking out.

All of this happened before 7:00 a.m.

I told Love Man, "you have to have the reflexes of a Ninja to live in this house."

Honestly.

Garage Sale Loot

When I was telling you the story of one crazy Thursday to a wacky Monday, I said I would do a post on what I acquired at the MV Garage Sales. Here it is!
Pavers for back yard was the main find. They are in place, but the area underneath them needs to be scraped away. They fit perfectly in the space. We needed the exact amount that I bought.
They were originally priced at $1.50 per paver, but were marked down to 75 cents per unit. We were on our way home and I offered all my remaining money, which was $7 and the lady took it.
She said, she did not want to have to carry them back to her house.

I also bought a book, a set of hot rollers, a nice bowl, a tapestry pillow and a stuffed bear like the one Blonde Girl lost in Mexico when she was five.

I think that was it. I spent $18, including food. A lot of these sales have concessions. Home owners sell coffee, soft drinks, donuts, chips and home made food. I buy the homemade food from the people I know, but stick to pre-packaged if I don't know them.

Marla got the nicest patio set for $40. I told the lady that Marla would take it, before Marla was even out of the car. Score!!!

We ran into many people that we knew. It is super fun and a great chance to socialize.

We made pit stops to store our excess in my garage. Marla always drives, she has a Suburban. We do have this process down.

A Squatch in the Mind

Are you familiar with that show about Big Foot? The girls and Love Man LOVE IT. They sit and watch it mesmerized and absolutely fascinated with it. And, yes they believe.

I myself do not believe in Big Foot. Where are the dead ones? Where are the bones? Yes, I have heard that porcupines eat them. What about the scat? Where does that go? What about baby Big Foot? Is there really a squatch in the woods?

Anyway, there was a town meeting in Payson. Love Man FLEW home from work and off they went to attend this meeting. OMG. I still love them despite this.

Crazy Times Three

Love Man had to be at work at 4:00 a.m. the same day that we would later have the bus fiasco.
He was to wake up at 2:45 a.m. That night we probably had the least amount of sleep ever.
It was even worse than when we had a sick baby or a vomiting toddler.

In the middle of the night, Sam, got sick. He is the smallest of our small dogs weighing around 4 pounds. I am not totally sure how much he weighs, he indulged a lot over the holidays!

He starting having diarrhea and we were up several times in the night with him. In fact, I had to give him a bath at 2:00 a.m. which terrified the other two dogs. They, of course, thought they would be next.

I wrapped him up in a beach towel and after he was drier, I put towels down on his dog bed.
There was no way he was sleeping at the foot of our bed. Funny, he really seemed to understand.

He must have eaten some people food. None of our dogs can have people food, it makes them sick.

Casa Loco Part II

By the time it was Tuesday, I was going to need the car. I was snack mom at Miss Brunette's basketball game and she also had a district band concert. Our family likes to do things on the same day. I also had bunco, but I bailed on that. It was too much.

Love Man rode his scooter to work and braved heavy winds.

The Lady Lions won their game and the band concert was good.

The next day Love Man took Miss B to school and she got a ride home with a friend of hers who has a senior for a sister. I caught a ride with this nice girl that I work with who also gave me a ride home. I had a ride scheduled for an hour earlier, but she forgot me. :( I did more work in our room.

I rode my bicycle to collect Blonde Girl from basketball practice. It was about 59 and windy.
I was tossed around on my street a bit, but I made it.

I needed the car on Thursday as Miss Brunette had an ortho appointment, so Love Man scootered again to work. I think he sort of liked the adventure of it all.

My car is ready today or tomorrow. The bumper has been painted and it is only a matter of time until I can walk down and collect it. It is about a 30 minute walk away. I honestly think I would
be healthier without a car.

The Lady Lions basketball team plays tomorrow night and if they win they will be in the finals.
I will keep you posted.

Crazy House Part I

All the craziness in a normally nutty house started last Thursday. I went to work, stopping at Circle K for a large drink and attended our teacher meeting. That all sounds normal, right? I stayed at work after the meeting and did a bunch of things to get caught up. I left to pick up our oldest daughter for her 2:30 dismissal. My car was rattling pretty badly. I got out and walked around the vehicle and my bumper was eschew.

The next day, Love Man took it in to the body shop that we use. We stupidly thought that the bumper could be bolted or something. Actually, it was worse than that and I have to have a new bumper. He declined the rental car and we did not even know if the car would be covered by our auto insurance.

That night, my friend Marla called me and said, "What kind of a friend are you?"
I replied, "oh, the good kind, why?" She was mad that I had not called to inform her of the famed MV Garage Sales. I said, "Blonde Girl playing in the school district's basketball tournament."

Their game was at 8:30 and if they won, they would play at 10:30. I told her I would call her by 6:15 in the morning if I decided to go to the sales. I woke up at 6:00 a.m. with visions of good junk dancing in my head. I texted her at 6:15 and woke up the girls. Miss Brunette and I had a great time at the sales. I will do another post about my loot later. Blonde Girl did not care if I attended her game or not, so Love Man took her alone.

Okay, the sad part. Evidently, Blonde Girl played the game of her elementary school career and scored more than 10 points. She helped her team win and first game and the second game.

We all ended up returning home around the same time. Miss Brunette had a babysitting job and Love Man had to go to an event hosted by the city that he works for. Blonde Girl and I were alone in the house. She immediately was invited over to the neighbor girl's house and proceeded to spend the night.

Sunday, I was to attend a Spring Training game with Love Man, but Miss Brunette was going to be home by herself, so I suggested that she and her dad go together. I spent a nice day at home cleaning and doing laundry. I also sat out in the sun.

On Monday, Love Man needed the car and we are down to one. I told Miss Brunette that she was going to have to take the bus to high school. She never has before and she was not thrilled at the prospect of doing so. We have never had to take the bus. We live within walking distance from the elementary and junior high schools.

I walked her to the spot. Pretending not to be with her and using one of our dog's as a prop. I went home and she called me. "The bus is not here, are you sure I am in the right place?". I called the school and I quote, "the bus stop is by the big tree near 6th." I called Miss B back and said, I was walking back over her. Meanwhile, Blonde Girl called and wanted to leave for school. She picked up the neighbor kids and met up with Neighbor Meggan who wondered where I was.

By the time Meggan got to us, we were still waiting for the darn bus. I called the transportation line again and someone was going to call me back. She did and said they would send a bus for Miss Brunette.

They did and it was another big tree not near 6th, but the park. I called them later in the morning and suggested that they change the directions that included the direction and name of the park the big tree was located. Sheesh!

Miss B did get to school, but missed half of her first class and she swears that she will never take the bus again. When the bus driver was explaining to me what happened, we backed up traffic for three city blocks. My friend was carpooling to her preschool and leaned her head out the window and yelled, "what the hell" to me. I got jeers and glares from people that I know who were trying to get to LOM Elementary. Funny.

I will tell you all about the rest of my week later.

Spring Training

Love Man and Miss Brunette went to a Spring Training game, otherwise known as the Cactus League. The stadium in Peoria hosts the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres. They played each other today. There are 10 stadiums in Arizona, which house 17 teams. The other
teams play in Florida.

It is fun and I don't enjoy sports. The lawn is the best place to sit.

I will post pictures tomorrow.

By the way, Blonde Girl was also on the lawn with the neighbors, that would be one of her BFFs,
Taylor. They spent Saturday playing back and forth between their house and ours. Miss B went over there later in the day and ending up spending the night. Then, they arrived at our house at eight a.m. to get ready for Sunday School. Later, hey attended the Spring Training game together. Miss B swam over there after the game and a few minutes ago the doorbell rang and it was Taylor coming to collect her missing items. What can I say???

By the way, she is still here. Love Man does not want to be the bad cop.

No Rest for the Wicked

After work today, I had to attend a teacher meeting. It was okay. I also went around and told the teachers I am friendly with not to be sick tomorrow as it is a day that I sub. I want to stay home tomorrow.

Then, I picked up Miss Brunette from high school and took her to the orthodontist.
I dropped her at the house and picked up Blonde Girl and a fellow basketball friend and took them to their game. The Lions won 27 - 6 or something like that.

I just got home after schelping to the store for sour cream. We are eating dinner shorty. Chicken with black bean tortillas. I put the chicken and green peppers in the crock pot at 6:30 this morning!!
