This Just In

While teaching summer school today, we found a kitty in the desert.
We could hear her crying and I walked out and found her.
Blonde Girl, assisted as she was wearing basketball shoes.
All of the children on the playground watched.
I am sure it will be the talk at the dinner table tonight.
I had to crawl under a tree to get her.
That must have been a sight!
Blonde Girl carried her into the school and gave her water.

We know she is a girl.
We got the free check-up at the PetSmart!
She is about six weeks old.
We are not keeping her, but she is at our house presently.
We bought food to give her and she was starving.
Photo to come!
We have been calling her Hope.

Weekend Update

It was nice to recoup from last week.
Love Man and I saw new "Hangover" movie.
It was not as good as the first.
We also hung out by the pool and hit Old Navy for a big sale.
We also watched our friend's little girl most of the weekend.
Her parents are renovating an old house.
Today, our girls are over there "helping".
I would love to drive by and watch them toil.

We've Partied All Week

Yesterday was Blonde Girl's birthday/pool party.

I let her have the variation of birthday this year.

She was thrilled and worked very hard.

It was fun and all the girls seemed to enjoy it.

But, how can you really tell??

No one texted or made calls,

so I figured they were having fun.

Our Girly Girl

When she did not get her certificate for perfect attendance,

she cut her eyes to me and shot daggers at me.

Me, not her father.

Me.

Ouch!

Oh my God, I am soooo sorry.

In 7th grade, she went to school at 9:30 as she had to get her braces on.
In 8th grade, I picked her up at 3:15 as I needed to get my mother at the airport.
My mother is reading this and saying, "I would have waited for you to get me."
I know that,
but that is not the point.

So, there you have it,
the few hours that she missed in junior high kept her from the recognition she deserves.
I hope she can live with the sacrifice.

She Did It

Okay this is a blurry picture and it is not Project Runway. . . . .
And by the way,

yesterday I felt old.

And, it is Miss Brunette's fault.
She is done.

She turned in all of her projects,

returned text books and

did not owe money to the cafeteria.

She is on her way to being a freshman in high school.

Promotion

Today is Miss B's promotion to the 9th grade.
We are having people over for cake and lemonade.
I post photos tomorrow.

Monday, Monday

Today was the end of the year luncheon at my school.
It is such a nice way to end the year.
I have only missed one since 1999 and it felt funny.
You laugh and almost cry a million times.
All in all, a good time.

Oh By the Way

Sam is recovering nicely.
The Rainbow year ended nicely with a slide show that Love Man helped me do.
Neighbor Meggan ran it through her hd laptop and we showed it on a nice hd tv.
It was great.
The parents sobbed.
Soccer finished today.
Okay, I am really glad about it.
We have been playing since October.
Today we are cleaning as we have Eighth Grade Promotion and Blonde Girl's Pool/Birthday Party.
Love Man and I went to see the "Bride Maids",
despite the hype, I did not love it.
It was funny, but raunchy.
"The Hangover" was better and we can not wait for the sequel.

This Just In

Sam had to have surgery as his hip was not staying in place.
He is doing well and should have a full recovery.
We are considering a fund-raiser.

Ta Da

The roof is basically done.

There is one more inspection and a really badly cracked tile must be replaced.

This catastrophe business is almost at a close.

A Simple Request

While visiting Grandma at the hospital in Henderson, Nevada, Blonde Girl said,
"Mom can we go down to the strip and go to the M and M Store?"

I was surprised she knew Las Vegas Boulevard is called the strip.
She actually said this to me in the hall and not in front of Grandma.

She is referring to M and M World, which has a wall of all colors of m and ms that you can buy for a lot a pound.
We map quested it and we headed for the strip.

That is me, the girls and Sam the injured dog, who accompanied us on our trip to Nevada.
We drove down Las Vegas Boulevard and turned left onto Monte Carlo and immediately found
free, short term parking.
We walked to the store, got our m and ms and reverse map quested ourselves back to Henderson.

Easy.
Easy.

People said to us, Oh, that is a real dog in that case.
We now succinctly say, "yes he is injured as he has a dislocated hip because my husband/our daddy rolled him up in the electric pool cover.
We sort of like the shock factor.
And, on the strip, for those few short minutes we got more attention than Little Elvis and his Big Ass Snake.

Weekend Update

We spent the weekend visiting Love Man's family in Las Vegas.
Well, actually, a suburb called Henderson, Nevada.
We drove across the new expansion bridge and was disappointed.
You can not see anything but white guide rails while driving on the bridge.
Sad, but true.
Love Man's parents have moved from Wisconsin to Nevada.
They are adjusting to the change in climate.

The Stroller

Here is the stroller that we ordered.

Hopefully, it will improve our quality of life.

Dog Tale

Sam is fine,

but he dislocated his hip.

We took him to the animal hospital and with anesthesia,

the hip was put back in place.

It was very traumatic for all of us.

Here is how it happened.

Love Man turned the key to the electric pool cover to roll it up.

Sam jumped on the cover and got rolled up in it.

Love Man unrolled the it and Sam sat in the middle of the pool on the cover.

Love Man got the pool scoop and got him that way.

He has to be kenneled for two to four weeks.

We have ordered a dog stroller for our convenience.

It is Not Done

I told you last year, that we were not going to celebrate Mother's Day anymore. I don't have to strength to do it and I ardently believe that the reason Mother's Day does not go as well as Father's Day is because it is not run by the mothers. So, I am not making mention that today is the day. I did buy my self something nice. In a conspiracy with Miss B, she gave it to Love Man to give to me. I think he sees through the rouse.

Computer News

My friend recommended this fabulous computer guy who comes to your house.
He fixed my computer and tweeked Love Man's.
We are back in business.
My computer had too many cleaners and such on it.
It also had way too many pictures.
I promised him I would delete some of them.
Which I did.
He also gave me a list of things to do to my computer to make it run better.
I told him, "you know my mother does this every Sunday and her computer does run great."
So, there you go. . . . . . . .

Week Recap

We have been busy doing our thing this week.

The tiles are still on the roof.

They are supposed to come today or Monday.

Our roof should be done by next week.

Miss Brunette had a concert Monday.

It was an Evening of Arts at Blonde Girl's school last night.

Miss B left this morning for the Heritage Festival in California.

She is going to have a great time.

They are also going to Disneyland and California Adventure.

We have soccer tonight and a game tomorrow.

I think Blonde Girl is sad Miss B is gone.

She has already complained about us not going to California to see the show choir sing.

I told her "we saw it after the concert when they had a rehearsal."

She was not there as she had her first babysititng job.

OMG.

By all accounts, she did great.

Top of the World

Today the tiles got put up on the roof.
They used some sort of fork lift.
I think it took most of the day.

The tiles are all stacked very neatly and in a pattern.
I love the workers.
They racked the yard for debris before they left for the day.

Yesterday, the guys did not show up.
I don't know why.
They didn't call.
They didn't write.

What is a girl to do?

Roofies

Don't pay any attention to the boys on the roof.
See that edge that looks brown?
Well, after I returned from the NCL luncheon,
and, I might add, I was all dolled up, I painted that roof line.
Love Man was hard at work and I said,
"hey, do you need any help?"
I am hoping this strategy works with my housework.

I donned my hideous painting clothes and put my hair in a bun.
Next, thing you know I am painting away.
He must have been desperate as I am a terrible painter.
I do get better as I go.

This is what our yard looks like.
Yes folks, a galizzion dollars worth of tile is just sitting there.

There is more.

And, more.

This is how it arrived. Some of the pallets were taken off by the time I snapped this picture.

Evidently they are used to all of this photo taking. They said, "getting a new tile roof is an event." It is definitely a happening.

When they asked me a couple of weeks ago where I wanted the tile to be stored. I showed them this very small space inside the RV gate. They just looked at me and said, "the tile will take up more room than that." Okay, okay. They ended up putting the tile just anywhere. "Won't someone try to steal it?" Laugh, laugh, "umm, it is too heavy to take."

All righty then.
