Oh Ann!

I just heard that NBC is replacing Ann Curry on the "Today Show".  I love "Today" and have watched it regularly since 1980.  I also love Ann.  OMG.

Here is how it was at my house:

ME:  OMG, OMG, that is terrible, OMG, why, OMG, that is terrible (repeat 25 times)........

LOVE MAN:  I move on. (repeat 3 times).

Still, she was smart, fun and kind.  She is going to head some division and have a team that does stories from around the world..  Savanah Guthrie is taking her spot, I guess.  OMG.

A Tree Grows in Phoenix

Remember this tree?  Look at it now.  I shades a good poriton of our house.  So much so, that we are thinking of getting another tipu tree for the other side of the house.

Land of Nod

Everybody in the house is asleep.  Love Man got up and watched "Sunday Morning", one of our favorite shows with me.  Blonde Girl was watching cartoons in the family room, but is now back to sleep.  Love Man is surrounded by Cooper and Sadie.  Sam is in his dog bed.  Abby is in hers.

Miss Brunette has not woken up at all. She is still snoozing away, despite me going in her room to collect dirty clothes.

It is funny really.

On the Down Low

I have been done with my J-O-B since June 7.  Give or take an hour here and there, I have mostly been running around all day.  I am logging a ton of time in my car.  I was out today for hours.
Was out yesterday for hours.  In addition to all of this fun, we have all being making the rounds at the doctors.  All is good.  We are fine.

Whatever happened to last summer's Mandatory Quiet Time?  We would all nip off to our perspective rooms for an hour or so to read, reflect, sleep, dance or sing.  I guess we generally to that when swimming season is over.  The girls even enjoyed MQT.  Sometimes they watched TV or did stuff in their rooms.  But, during the heat of the afternoon is was nice.

Sadie and Her Bad Hair Days

This is Sadie before her hair cut.  I know, she is a mess - but sometimes it takes forever to get into the grooming school for an appointment.  I am lucky, my friend's dogs are now banned.

Sadie did manage to keep her appointment and came home with her new summer cut.  And, then she proceeded to hide under the bed for 10 days because she was embarrassed.  I honestly, nearly took to to the vet.  Our vet assumes all of are animals are a tad on the eccentric side.  I don't know why.
Really, I don't.

Jumping for Jubilee

For those of you that regularly read this blog, Mother's Day is not the most observed holiday in our house.  As you know, I banned Mother's Day as I do not have the strength to run it.  Father's Day is heavily celebrated.   Combine that with Love Man's birthday and we now have what we call -
the Jubilee.

Love Man started putting the word "jubilee" in front of everything.  When he wanted to lick the bowl when the girls were making brownies, he asked for the "Jubilee bowl".

On Friday he was taken to lunch at Lake Pleasant.

On Saturday, he got to lick the Jubilee bowl and did not lock up the house as it was his "Jubilee".
I did that duty for him.

On Sunday, he was presented with ties and made a nice dinner, complete with berry cobbler and homemade, vanilla ice cream.  He was also served breakfast in bed.

This girls were not into making and serving Love Man his breakfast.  I told them, "you created this monster."

All I can say is simply, we are not crazy enough.

Later this week - more past and present Jubilee highlights.

Bird's Eye View

This just in, we have baby quails in our backyard.  The mom and dad are there also keeping watch on the babies.  One fell in the pool.  Blonde Girl alerted Love Man and he rescued it.

Good God!  I am now over run with dogs and birds.

The dogs would like to get up close and personal with the quails.  The cat is fascinated with the whole thing.

Miss Brunette does not feel that Sadie should be allowed in the back yard, due to her previous bird attack history.  All I am saying is that I am just one person.....

The Flora and The Fauna

My friend, Mrs. C., used to say that we had all of the flora and the fauna at our house.   OMG, she was right.  Here at casa loco, we are over-run with animals both inside and outside of our house.

Miss B just got a new camera and she has been experimenting.  This is one of my orchids.  I love them.  I have had one for two or three years, it is just getting ready to start blooming again.  This has made me purchase other orchids when they go on clearance as I now think I am the "orchid whisperer".

I know, we are not crazy enough.

Parrots

As long as these dumb, but beautiful birds are waking us up at the crack of dawn, you'll be seeing pictures of them.  This was taken by Miss B with her new camera!!!!

New Do

Sadie got her hair cut really short and has been super embarrassed about it.  In fact, she hid under the bed for about a week!  She is fine now.

Come Fly Away

I think that nest is a morning dove.  We have had them in the past.  I don't know.  We have a ton of birds ranging from the parrots, hummingbirds, doves, cardinals, cactus wrens, woodpeckers and ravens.

The most annoying are the woodpeckers and those parrots.  Both are loud.  This one particular woodpecker hammers on our chimney grate.  The sound used to annoy us as it reverberates throughout the house, but we have gotten used to it.  Un-Neighbor John used to take matters into his own hands with the woodpeckers, but hasn't lately.

We still do not talk to him.  He is too crazy.

Bird Brain

In other bird news, can you see the nest?

For the Birds

We have parrots living in our palm tree.  I don't know how many.  Ten or so, I guess.  They are so cute, but noisy as Miss B remarked when she woke up.  I will try to get better pictures of them.  They have been here all week.  This happened a few years ago.  They took up residence in our saguaro.  We had dozens of them then.

I think they live on the golf course, which is in our neighborhood.  Someone lost a parrot or parakeet, which is what they probably are.  Later, another parakeet was lost and the rest is history.  I don't know.

I don't love birds.  But, enjoy hummingbirds and these green things. As long as they don't fly at my head, I will be fine.

Don't Mess with the Nest

The crazy parrots that live on the golf course in our neighborhood were in our trees today. I could only get a shot of one. Several tried to buzz my head when I headed out with the camera, you know how I love when birds do that.  If you come to my house, watch out for the yellow parrot.

I am so glad May is over.  I couldn't take another week of it.  We were so busy with concerts, plays, Confirmation, my end of school year (and all the crazy that comes with that), this tea that I was on the committee for, and the list could continue - but you get the jest.  In fact, the weekend that it all finally wound down, I literally went to bed at 7:45 p.m.

Naturally, it all does not go smoothly.  In addition to all of the fun and games - our pool broke, my car blew a hose (don't worry a nice couple of skin heads all tattooed and pierced up help me push the car while Miss B sort of steered), Blonde Girl started talking about her birthday party and that list could go on and on.

We did have her party on Friday.  We sent out the invites a tad late, but it all worked out.  Everyone seemed to have fun.  They ate a lot!  Honestly, I had to go out for more supplies.  The cupcakes were fab.

I have a couple of days left of summer school.  And, I am hoping not to be so busy for a while.
